“Anne, you are so white,” a newsroom cohort recently said to me. And after an illuminating visit to the website he was looking at, I have to conclude that he’s absolutely right.
By racial definition, of course I am white, and it seems kind of obvious my snow-colored pallor would leave little room for discussion. But my friend wasn’t referring to light skin color (I am, according to cosmetic line Color Me Beautiful, an “autumn”), but much more my affinity for Whole Foods, coffee, San Fransisco and graduate school.
He was looking at Stuff White People Like (SWPL), a blog that lists and defines
