No one likes windburn, despite how cute you look in those light slacks. When the cold weather starts to reek havoc on our fashion sense, things such as funky umbrellas and the ultra stylish trench coat work great as well. This week’s man on the street was spotted wearing a trench coat that looked as warm as it was stylish. He comes to Northeastern from Princeton, New Jersey. His name is Frank Gargione and he is a 21-year-old junior graphic design major. Northeastern News: What are your biggest influences, style wise? Frank Gargione: Mostly music and musicians; I know that it’s cliche, but it’s true. People like: Beck, Ryan Adams, The Eels, and The Old 97’s and The Strokes. The News: Does your graphics design background influence your style decisions? Do the images you work with mimic your wardrobe choices? Gargione: Totally, I love Modern Art, things such as Pop Art, Blocking of colors, New Wave art is also very cool. The Warhol exhibit in London was great as well. The News: What is a style staple that completes your whole wardrobe? Gargione: Chucks, Campers and jean jackets. The News: Those sound very All-American and stylish as well as unisex, what clothes do you feel could be worn by both sexes, but still come off stylish? Gargione: Besides the stuff mentioned, a good pair of jeans is very cool. Definitely Chucks and a J-Crew sweater. Who doesn’t look good in a pair of jeans and Chucks and a big sweater, and definitely a Pea coat. The News: We see the styles that you love, but are some of the trends that you can not stand? Gargione: I hate Low Slung Jeans. I love ads, but I can’t stand those Levi’s ads, with the guy wearing jeans and a short shirt. I also cannot stand Steve Madden. Those ads with the stupid bird and the girl with the big eyes…
