The lack of concern, not only for their well being, but also for others around them, has brought up an interesting argument.
The students arrested in Willis Hall Monday night, who were selling drugs and keeping a running count on who they owed the illegal substance to are a perfect example of certain students lack of respect for others.
For the residents of the room who are clean and don’t do illegal narcotics, it’s a shame they get mixed up in the ordeal.
Not only do the current residents of those rooms get effected, but also the occupants of rooms surrounding them. Residents of those rooms are hassled by the wafting smell of marijuana and the constant reminder from RAs that they are being closely monitored.
You’re not only wasting the time of your roommates and making it difficult for them to study, but also the RAs who, at 2 a.m. or there about, have to come to discipline your habits and call local authorities.
For those of you that do drugs, it isn’t fair to those around you who are trying to get through five years of school. First off, kick the habit. But if your addiction is going to cost you your education and your mind, at least have the decency to allow those around you to live in peace and not have to worry about you and your habits.
The unnecessary hassle of dealing with insubordinate roommates should never come about. Leave the non-offenders alone. Don’t make them smell or hear your drug addiction.
