The Northeastern women’s swimming and diving team captured an undefeated season this year, winning all 10 of their regular season meets.
A two point victory over rival Boston College at the start of the season set the stage for a streak of accomplishments, including first place at Boston University’s Terrier Invitational and a fifth place finish at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship.
“Beating BC was where everything started for us. We believed in each other and we believed that we were a very good and strong team,” said senior captain Kara Lane.
The team broke seven school records during the course of the season, including a longstanding 200-yard medley relay time that fell by almost two seconds at the CAA Championship.
That record breaking relay by juniors Alexandra Doty and Heather Whiting, senior Kara Lane and sophomore Kathrine Fugge would go on to set a new 400-yard medley record in the last event of the Championship.
Northeastern’s fifth place finish at the CAA Championship was the program’s best to date.
“It’s just been a fantastic season being a part of such a successful team,” said senior diver Brooks Wallace.
