The North End, also known as Boston’s Little Italy, is a romantic neighborhood that offers authentic Italian food and a Mediterranean feel to any person – or, more often, couple – who visits. Because of this, the area won this year’s best date location.
Walking into the North End is like walking into a different country. You are taken away from the hustle and bustle of Boston and transported onto quaint and quiet streets lined by brick buildings, packed tightly together. Visitors first hit Hanover Street, filled with an assortment of options for a romantic evening from a delicious Italian dinner to a quick meal at a caf’eacute;.
Whether it be seafood, pasta or pizza, any type of Italian food you could wish for is offered somewhere in the North End. In fact, the original Pizzeria Regina is located on Thatcher Street.
A staple in the North End is Mike’s Pastry, which offers any type of Italian dessert imaginable. Located at 300 Hanover St., visitors can grab a cannoli big enough for two but good enough to keep for one.
The North End also offers one of the city’s best views of the Charles River: It’s at the far end of Hanover Street and is worth the short walk after a satisfying meal before heading back to Northeastern.
With all the dining options to choose from, someone might wonder which restaurant in the North End is the best. Well, it’s almost a guarantee that in the North End, any date place will offer a good meal served by good people.
The neighborhood is a 15-minute ride on the T using the Green or Orange lines to Haymarket.
