If nothing else, the women’s hockey team can take pride in the fact that, on their way to compiling a 7-24-3 record this past season, they were able to win two out of three games against rival Boston College.
But head coach Laura Schuler said there is something about which the Huskies should be just as proud – the intensity of their play in the Beanpot loss to Harvard.
Prior to their first-round Beanpot game against the Crimson February 5, the Huskies had proven they could compete with the top teams in the country. On Feb. 1, they skated to a 1-1 tie against then-ranked No. 8 UConn, and one of their wins against BC came when the Eagles were ranked ninth in the nation.
“It just seemed like every time we played against a top-10 team, it was like we were a different team. It’s really fun to be sitting there on the bench and see the team play that hard,” Schuler said.
