Forum to discuss Olympic games and social change
Today the Annual Human Rights Leadership Forum will be held in Blackman Auditorium at 9 a.m. The event will honor more than 500 students who have spent at least one year reducing prejudice and violence within their schools and local communities. This year’s theme, “Human Rights and the Olympics,” will bring together social justice activists from diverse backgrounds to speak on various aspects of approaching Beijing Olympic Games. During the forum, four schools or groups will receive awards for their efforts and service to their community. The event is part of a two-day forum that will give participants the chance to discuss the Olympics and its role in promoting social justice and human rights.
