Snell Library opens for 24 hours during classes
The first floor of the Snell Library is now open 24 hours when classes are in session, according to a release from the library. The library adopted its new schedule July 7. Though the floor will remain open all hours, some services, like reserves access, reference and circulation will retain their regularly scheduled hours. SPCS changes name to College of Professional Studies
The School of Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS) is now the College of Professional Studies, according to a statement released by the university. The Board of Trustees approved the name change, the second in five years, June 6, according to the release. It was originally titled University College, and since the initial name change, the school has added graduate degrees, created a number of fully online degree programs and added college transfer programs for working professionals. President Joseph Aoun said in the statement that the new name better reflects the school’s focus.

The News to host open house in new Huntington space
The News is hosting an open house at its future location at 295 Huntington Ave. Members of The News, soon to be called the Huntington News, are in the process of relocating offices there as part of its transition to become independent, and will be fully moved by September. Alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends are invited to join members of The News from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to show the space. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
