Spectators from across Boston crowded along both sides of the Charles River at 10:30 p.m. July 4 to watch the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. Barges between the Longfellow and Harvard bridges launched thousands of fireworks over a half-hour period, filling the sky with pinwheels of fire and streaks of red, white and blue to commemorate the country’s Independence Day.
