Newly appointed Athletic Director Dave O’Brien has added some firepower to his staff.
Brett Burchette, who recently worked with Nelligan Sports Marketing supporting Temple and Georgetown Universities, has recently been named the assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs.
Burchette’s hiring comes at a time when Northeastern has achieved unparalleled success in its athletics history. The university is 27th in the current NACDA Director’s’ Cup Division I standings, which reflects the overall quality if a college’s sports program. The mark is the highest ever for NU after a fall season.
The brunt of the Huskies’ success is highlighted by the three sports teams who qualified for the NCAA postseason. The field hockey team qualified for its 12th NCAA berth, The football team qualified for its first IAA title, while the men’s soccer team made the NCAA College Cup for the first time in the history of the program.
