SGA and Student Affairs host open forum for Aoun The Student Government Association and the Office of Student Affairs are holding an open forum with President Joseph Aoun Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, according to a myNEU post. All students are welcome to attend, but seating is limited, the post said. The event will be in the Cabral Center of the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute. The forum will be formatted as a question and answer session with President Aoun, followed by a free reception.

Bracelets on sale for Rebecca Payne scholarship In memory of Rebecca Payne, a 22-year-old Northeastern athletic training student, fellow students will be selling green rubber bracelets in the Centennial Quad Wednesday Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m for the second time this year. Payne was found shot to death in her apartment May 20. The students are asking for a minimum donation of $3 to help raise the necessary $52,000 for the Rebecca Payne District 1 Memorial Scholarship established by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Research and Education Foundation, according to the group’s Facebook page. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving District 1 New England athletic training student, the page stated.

New channels for HuskyCable line-up announced Matthew Soleyn, vice president for housing services in the Resident Student Association (RSA), announced Wednesday at the RSA general council meeting that two new channels will be added to the HuskyCable service. G4TV, a gaming channel, and FitTV, a diet and physical fitness channel, are the two channels to be added, Soleyn said. The additions to the university’s cable system, which is available in all university-owned housing, will occur sometime this semester, though a definite date has not been set.
