Basketball set to open in 2k Sports Classic to benefit Coaches vs. Cancer
The field for the 2kSports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer was finalized and announced in a release last week by the Gazelle Group. Northeastern will open the Michigan bracket when they take on Indiana-Purdue University-Indianapolis on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. Should the Huskies come out on top, they will battle the winner of the later game between Michigan and Michigan Tech on Nov. 12. If NU is victorious in both its games it will advance to the semi-finals held at Madison Square Garden in New York Nov. 20. State rival UMass as and historic powerhouses UCLA and Duke highlight the other fields.

Moriarty earns Colonial Athletic Association Co-Runner of the Week honor
Northeastern senior Brittany Moriarty was named Co-Runner of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) on Tuesday, according to a CAA release. Moriarty posted a time of 22:14 in the 6K event at the George Mason Invitational Oct. 4. That time was good enough for 10th overall and also helped the Huskies to a fourth place finish. This weekend, Moriarty will look to continue her recent success at the New England Invitational to be held at Franklin Park.

University to offer trip package for hockey, football games against Maine
The Athletics Department announced it is sponsoring a bus trip to the University of Maine on the weekend of October 24 and 25. Husky fans have the opportunity to watch the men’s hockey team battle the Black Bears Friday night before watching the schools battle in football Saturday afternoon. The bus ride costs $40 per person and the hotel is $100 per group for one night. Students can attend both games for free with the purchase of a bus ticket. For more information visit GoNU.com
