This fall, the university will be undergoing a major change to its academic calendar – a switch to semesters.
This switch will affect current students who graduate after this coming summer. The easiest way for students to make sure they graduate on time and are following the correct academic path is to follow up with an academic advisor.
According to the Semester Conversion Office, students who work with their advisor to determine an academic schedule, follow the schedule and successfully complete their academic requirements will graduate on time and not assume any additional expenses as a result of the conversion.
Reluctance to seek the advice of an academic advisor could likely set back a student who is confused about the changes made in their academic program. Changes that could potentially take place in academic programs include the addition and removal of several courses from the required curriculum and the combination of level one and two courses to one requirement.
Failure to obtain information of these potential changes from an academic advisor can result in additional tuition charges by way of taking unnecessary classes or taking an additional class added to the curriculum during the semester conversion.
Students should seek advice from academic advisors and be proactive.
