ORONO, Maine – The No. 11 men’s hockey team came back from a one-goal deficit in the third period of Saturday’s game to complete a sweep of Maine, dampening the Black Bears’ homecoming weekend.
Northeastern shut out Maine 5-0 Friday and came back with two late goals Saturday to take the rematch, 2-1.
“That was an ugly win, but it was a great win,” head coach Greg Cronin said after Saturday’s game. “Getting four points up in Orono, I don’t care how young they are, it’s always a difficult challenge.
