Tuckerman earns Rookie of the Week award
Alex Tuckerman was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week according to an announcement by the conference on Monday. Tuckerman recorded his first collegiate goal Friday night in Northeastern’s 5-0 shutout of Maine. After his penalty expired, Tuckerman got the puck off a pass from fellow freshman Steve Quailer. He then fired a low wrist shot into the corner which put the Huskies up 4-0 at the time. The forward also tallied his second assist on the season in Saturday’s 2-1 come from behind win against Maine. Tuckerman stopped a clearing attempt by the Black Bear’s goalie and centered the puck to senior Rob Rassey who scored to tie the game at one. The Huskies are back in action this weekend with a home and home series against UNH.
