Northeastern students were nowhere to be found at the World AIDS Day Film Screening and Panel, which was the kick off for Northeastern’s AIDS Awareness Week.
The crowd of about 15 on Monday night was made up of workers from the Multicultural AIDS Coalition (MAC), Northeastern staff and other non-student audience members.
Held in the Raytheon Amphitheater in the Egan Research Center, the screening and panel was meant to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS in the African American and Latino community on campus, according to the Northeastern website.
The two films shown were previously screened at the Roxbury Film Festival last summer, said Alison Lima, project coordinator for the Center for Community Health Education, Research and Service.
