Women’s soccer player earns third CAA Rookie of the Week honor
Freshman forward Veronica Napoli of the women’s soccer team earned rookie of the week honors this week. It was announced by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Monday. Napoli scored the game-winning goal against Hofstra Oct. 30, which solidified a spot in the CAA playoffs for the Huskies. The forward leads the team in goals, assists and points, tallying 12, five and 29 respectively. Napoli will look to continue her successful freshman campaign when the team takes on James Madison Friday in the semifinals of the CAA tournament.

Women’s hockey registers No. 10 ranking in USCHO.com national poll
The women’s hockey team earned the 10th spot in the USCHO.com Division I hockey poll released Monday. This marks the first time the team has cracked the top 10 since 2002. The Huskies are 5-1-2 so far this season, their best start since the 2003-04 season. A major part of the success has come from the stellar play of goaltenders, freshman Florence Schelling and sophomore Leah Sulyma, who have a 0.74 and 1.72 goals against average, respectively. Sophomore forward Kristi Kehoe currently leads the team in goals with six so far this year.

Men’s hockey falls one spot to No. 10 after loss, tie with New Hampshire
The men’s hockey team is ranked No. 10 in the nation according to the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports Division I poll, released Monday. The Huskies fell one spot from last week’s poll after dropping a 4-2 decision to No. 6 UNH in Durham, N.H. Friday and earning a 2-2 tie with the Wildcats at Matthews Arena the next night. The team will entertain unranked Bentley Saturday night at Matthews Arena at 7 p.m.

Athletics Department to hold canned food drive at hockey game Saturday
During the men’s hockey game against Bentley Saturday, the Athletics Department will team up with the DogHouse to hold a canned food drive. All students are asked to bring a canned good, which will be donated to a local area Boston food bank.
