Regarding Afsha Bawany’s column titled “It’s a wonderful life,” it was a good article. But she misses big; “My argument is that protesters are trying to stop the war to bring back the troops to their families.”
I seriously hope that isn’t her reasoning. Because any knowledgeable person knows no protesting will put a stop to this war. Most of the people who protest don’t have half a clue about what they are protesting. During the 60s and 70s, it was more about doing it because everyone else was doing it as well as smoking pot. Now college kids are protesting because they want to be a part of it too. Stop the war? Not going to happen. Keep police from doing more productive things? That is what is happening and will continue to happen.
