By and large, the men’s hockey team took a small step back this years’ dropping out of the Hockey East playoffs, the only team to miss the postseason and the second time the Huskies have done it in the last five years.
Northeastern coach Bruce Crowder continually tried to make line up changes that would light a spark in the sometimes saggy offensive unit. The goaltending at times this season was spectacular and other times, poor. Keni Gibson and Mike Gilhooly were interchangeable parts and seemingly made some big time saves.
Mike Ryan capped off an incredible career by tallying 20-plus goals for the second straight season. Freshman Mike Morris showed flashes of brilliance on occasions and Jason Guerriero continued to improve.
The Huskies still have their work cut out for them but will be looking to the new class to get them back to the postseason.
