This Saturday, Speare Hall will see more than just students. Speare actually has a cafeteria in its basement and it will be put to good use when the Council of University Programs (CUP) holds its “Rocking Back to School” concert there. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the free concert will feature a number of bands including the Call Up at 1 p.m., the Glow at 1:45 p.m., Greenline (a Northeastern band) at 2:30 p.m., First Aid Kit (another NU band) at 3:15 p.m. and Slater at 4 p.m. A WRBB Radio DJ will be spinning tunes while the bands set up and take down their sets. The event is the brainchild of Joshua Pratt, who is in charge of concerts for CUP. “All the bands are different styles of rock and roll. As concert chair, I really want to bring diversity to this school since our school is such a diverse place,” said Pratt. “This is our first real major concert of the year, and I hope to bring many different types of musical tastes and genres to NU like rock, rap, hip hop, country, you name it.” If you are interested in CUP or upcoming musical programs, you can e-mail Pratt at [email protected]
