CollegeFest, the biggest college party and student lifestyle festival of the year, is coming to Boston. This year’s eclectic highlights include live music from hip-hop artists Akrobatik, Illin’ P and the group Full Tilt. MTV “Real World: Paris” cast members, Mallory and C.T. will be on-hand for a meet-and-greet. For students looking to become the next television star, Boston’s WB56 will have a mini-studio and is auditioning students to do on-air TV promos. Students at CollegeFest also have a chance to win contest prizes. CollegeFest is Sat., Sept. 27 from noon to 7 p.m. and Sun., Sept. 28 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street in Boston (next to the Prudential Tower). Tickets are $8 at the door or $6 if purchased in advance at the Virgin Megastore in Boston, from Sept. 20 to Sept. 26 from noon to 6 p.m.
The Third Annual BeanTown Jazz Festival will be from noon to 6 p.m. Jazz performers Pieces of a Dream and Average White Band will headline the festival, and will be joined by local favorites. All will perform on four stages located on Columbus Avenue (between Massachusetts Avenue and Burke Street).
