For the second time in three years, the New England Patriots will head to the Super Bowl with hopes of bringing the championship home. On Feb. 1, when many in the Northeastern community will be enjoying the big game, we wish to remind you to support your team in a positive, sportsmanlike manner. Disorderly conduct of any kind will not be tolerated.
The Northeastern University Student Handbook sets appropriate and clear guidelines for the behavior of its students. The guidelines are established to ensure that student conduct does not adversely affect the educational mission of the university or its relationship with the surrounding community. Those who take part in disorderly conduct, inappropriate behavior, or destruction of property on or off campus will be disciplined accordingly.
Northeastern University takes these matters very seriously and disciplinary charges will be filed against any students who engage in such acts. Such misconduct will result in the imposition of appropriate disciplinary sanctions, ranging from probation to suspension or possible expulsion.
Northeastern’s offices of Public Safety and Residential Life work with the Boston Police Department and Northeastern’s Public Safety Division to keep the Northeastern campus and the surrounding community safe for everyone. It is our expectation that you will represent the university responsibly by complying with regulations set forth in the Code of Student Conduct. The safety of our students as well as our neighbors is a top priority, which we hope you will keep in mind as we celebrate the great accomplishments of our favorite teams.
