Letter: Adjunct Faculty

As part-time adjunct faculty members at Northeastern University, we are all at an important crossroads in our relationship with the school. On April 25, the SEIU mailed out ballots to all eligible part-time faculty in order to hold a vote on potential union representation. We have all received multiple communications from the union advocates over the past few months; however, I have not seen or heard much from the faculty who are not interested in union representation.

Since then, protestors in Africa have sparked an anti-government movement while waiting for the government to find the missing students.

Entry of the week: Friday, April 25, 1:33 a.m. A male Northeastern student attempted to swipe into International Village claiming that he had lived there all semester. He was not listed on the building’s roster. He then stated he was going to “Stetson” but was found later in his West Village A apartment. The student had previously not admitted to drinking but later admitted that he had provided the responding officers with a fake ID as he was not of legal age. The fake ID was then confiscated.

After the Northeastern baseball team defeated Hofstra 10-2 in Hempstead, N.Y. on Sunday afternoon, the Huskies have now won five of their last six games. Head coach Neil McPhee’s club is now in sixth place in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with a 6-9 record in conference play, and just 1.5 games behind the Delaware Blue Hens from fourth place in the league.

The Northeastern men’s and women’s track teams kicked off postseason competition last weekend at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships in Harrisonburg, Va. Both squads took home second-place team finishes while two Huskies earned individual honors for their exceptional performances on the track and in the field.
