President Aoun earned the René Moawad Foundation (RMF) Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award at a gala in Washington over the weekend. The award served to recognize his outstanding contributions to education.
Junior journalism and marketing major Megan Haas was elected to be president of the Massachusetts Alliance of College Republicans (MACR) less than a month ago. Her antithesis, senior political science major Marvin McMoore, was elected in April to be the president of College Democrats of Massachusetts (CDM).
Hertz left a void for students last year when its on-demand car service, though successful on campus, was declared a corporate failure and its cars disappeared from Northeastern. On June 30, 2014 Hertz cars vanished from Huntington, but another service took its place the very next day: Enterprise CarShare.
A Northeastern student reported that a male compelled him to deposit a check and withdraw $720 in cash from the Bank of America ATM located at 285 Huntington Ave. No weapons or threats were used during the incident, which occurred at 7:25 p.m., after which the victim immediately walked to NUPD headquarters to report the incident. The Boston Police Department (BPD) was notified, and a report was filed.

For the past five years, Relay for Life has brought hundreds of Northeastern students and community members together as they walk laps in Matthews Arena. The goal: to raise cancer awareness and honor those who have lost, survived or continue their battle with each lap.

This semester, the Northeastern School of Architecture announced the addition of a third major to join architecture and urban studies in the undergraduate curriculum. Architectural studies, housed in the College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD), allows students to have greater flexibility with classes and pursue concentrations in one of three degree tracks: sustainability, design and culture and real estate development. Incoming freshmen and students entering their sophomore year had the choice of opting into the major.
