Northeastern University dining service workers averted a strike set to begin Wednesday by voting to ratify a new contract with Chartwells, the food vendor Northeastern contracts for dining services, Tuesday evening.

Modern pride flag flies over Centennial

A redesigned pride flag was raised above Centennial Common Oct. 2 in recognition of LGBTQA+ history month. The new flag features brown and black bands above the iconic rainbow stripes to highlight the experiences of people of color within the LGTBQA+ community and will fly alongside the U.S. flag for the duration of what is dubbed ‘OUTober.’

It was 30 minutes into the meeting when Jeffrey Tucker answered the call. There had been a mix-up, and the speaking commitment hadn’t been placed on his schedule. Still dressed in his cocktail party finery, the notable anti-government economist sat down and delivered an unscripted speech to the Northeastern student libertarians for the remainder of the hour.

Second water bubble forms in Willis Hall apartment

An apparent water leak in an apartment on the sixth floor of Willis Hall created a bubble on the bathroom ceiling, roughly 18 by 6 inches, which leaked dirt and debris into the unit’s bathroom Monday and appears to be growing mold.

Dining workers vote to begin strike Wednesday

Northeastern dining hall workers voted overwhelmingly to strike if they are not able to reach a contract resolution with their employer by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
SGA passed two resolutions creating positions for an Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as well as a Vice President for Sustainability.
