Junior forward Kevin Roy has been dazzling ice arenas with his goal-scoring capabilities since he was in high school. Roy, who just celebrated his 100th goal as a Northeastern Husky, first became notable when a video of him in a shootout competition at age 13 gained traction online.

Alright Peyton Manning, I think it’s finally time to hang up the cleats. Put away that helmet that is clearly way too tight, before the big, red mark on your forehead becomes permanent. We know you want to win another Super Bowl, but nobody beats Father Time and, right now, you are clearly struggling to do the things you used to be able to.

Women’s basketball looks to end six game skid

Holiday season did not treat the Northeastern (3-11) women’s basketball team kindly, nor did the New Year, as the Huskies dropped their fifth straight game Sunday afternoon. The Huskies fell to 3-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference play after a 54-48 loss to the University of Delaware (6-9).
Junior Nicole Genard placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 at the Jay Carisella Invitational.

Northeastern’s track and field team started the season with seven first place finishes at the Dec. 6 Boston University (BU) season opener. One week later, NU hosted the sixth annual Jay Carisella Invitational and finished first overall.

The Northeastern men’s hockey team rallied after a Nov. 21 loss at Merrimack College in North Andover to beat the Warriors at home the following day and upset No. 3 University of Minnesota a week later. The two-game win streak was halted Wednesday with a loss to Providence College.
