Maybe this is how they will finally turn things around. With its win over No. 3 University of Minnesota on Saturday, the Northeastern men’s hockey team had its first winning streak of the season. It was short-lived as Providence snapped the streak on Wednesday in the first of two games against the Huskies. The big question that faces Head Coach Jim Madigan and his team is if they can find the means to bounce back from defeat and play the way fans know they are capable of as the team gets into the heart of this season’s tough schedule.

The Northeastern University women’s basketball team found itself with a winning record after defeating Marist College by seven on Nov. 22, but slipped back to under .500 after losses to North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

Florida State shuts out NU soccer 3-0

The Northeastern women’s soccer team’s record-breaking 2014 season came to an end on Nov. 21 with a 3-0 loss at the hands of top-seeded Florida State University (FSU). Over the course of the season, the Huskies broke program records for wins and shutouts, and reached the second round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament for the second time in school history.

Northeastern women’s hockey team had a packed schedule the last two weeks, taking on the University of Vermont (UVM), Harvard University and Union College. The team swept UVM 7-3 and 5-1 in back-to-back games Nov. 22 and 23. After the two wins, the Huskies lost 4-3 against Harvard on Saturday and 1-0 to Union on Tuesday at Matthews Arena.

The Northeastern women’s hockey team played Providence College this weekend, losing 4-1 on Saturday at Schneider Arena. On Sunday, the Huskies turned it around at Matthews Arena as sophomore goaltender Sarah Foss notched her first career win with a 6-2 victory.

Women’s rowing competes in Foot of the Charles Regatta

The Northeastern women’s rowing team competed in the Foot of the Charles Regatta (FOCR) against five other universities on Saturday, finishing with the varsity eight boat victory. The University of Rhode Island (URI), Boston University (BU), Boston College (BC), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University competed against Northeastern to close out the fall season.

It took some time and it wasn’t pretty, but the Northeastern women’s soccer team took home its first outright National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament win in school history on Saturday. By edging Boston University (BU) in a 2-0 thriller at BU’s Nickerson Field, the Huskies earned a spot amongst the last 32 teams standing in Division I women’s soccer.
