The Northeastern swimming and diving teams only have one commonality: they share the same water.But when it comes to winning meets, both scores matter. Despite Northeastern’s diving team earning the win over Brown University, the swimming team came up short last Friday in Providence with a 136-107 loss.

The Northeastern men’s hockey team added a pair of losses to its record after a trip to Quinnipiac University this weekend. A 3-2 loss on Friday and a 4-3 loss on Saturday at Quinnipiac’s TD Bank Sports Center were numbers five and six of the Huskies’ 0-6 start to the season.

Senior captain goaltender Chloe Desjardins had a 28-save shutout this week, leading the Northeastern women’s hockey team to a 2-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire (UNH) at Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. However, the Huskies were not able to keep the streak, coming away with a 1-0 loss against University of Maine at Matthews Arena on Saturday.

With 100 yards of open space and 21 other players on the field, keeping watch over a 7 by 12-foot goal certainly isn’t the most action-packed role on the field hockey pitch. But for sophomore Rebecca “Becky” Garner, the goal is her domain. Selected to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Rookie Team as a freshman last season, and voted to the All-CAA Preseason Team this year, Garner has been one of the key cogs for the No. 18 Northeastern team this season, helping lead the Huskies to their first-ever CAA regular season championship.

Northeastern swimming and diving competed in a quad meet at George Mason University (GMU) this weekend, but as far as the Huskies were concerned, the strongest competition at the meet was Towson University. NU finished the two-day race 2-1 with wins over GMU and College of Charleston and a loss to Towson.
