NU women’s hockey struggles, falls to BU 3-2

The Northeastern women’s hockey team made two comebacks while away against Robert Morris University (RMU) but still fell short in a 3-2 loss on Friday and a 2-2 tie on Saturday. On Tuesday, the team was defeated by Boston University (BU) 3-2 on the Terriers’ home turf. In the game against BU, the Huskies almost overcame a three-goal deficit, scoring two goals in the third period.

Depth wasn’t supposed to be an issue coming into the season, but the Northeastern men’s basketball team will be playing without yet another guard from last year’s squad. After three seasons playing for the Huskies, senior guard Demetrius Pollard has left the basketball program for unknown reasons. He is still enrolled at the university and plans on graduating, but will not be with the team as it prepares to open its season against Boston University at the TD Garden on Nov. 16.

The Northeastern men’s hockey team peppered University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst freshman goaltender Henry Dill with 44 shots on Friday, but couldn’t find a way to put more than two past him in the Huskies’ 3-2 loss at Matthews Arena.

Northeastern rowing competes at 50th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta

The Head of the Charles Regatta, the main rowing event of the year, attracted over 400,000 spectators along the banks and bridges of the Charles River over the weekend. In its 50th year, the race saw 776 clubs from all over the world, including Norway, Canada, Germany and Australia. The two-day race is the largest of its kind worldwide.

The first and longest road trip of the season was an unfruitful one that sent the Huskies on the 270-mile bus ride home with a 0-3 record.

The Northeastern field hockey team had its 11-game winning streak snapped on Sunday in a 2-1 overtime loss against No. 20 University of Maine. Entering the game, Northeastern had dominated Maine with a record of 23-6-1.
