The Huskies’ seniors, midfielder Kevin Carvalho, midfielder Chris Flores, midfielder Gerardo Milano, defender Martin Nygaard, defender Moustapha Samb and forward/midfielder Harry Swartz, were each presented with a framed jersey as they made their way out to midfield. The seniors posed for a picture with the coaching staff and their escorting family members. The commentator read a recap of each of the seniors’ Husky careers and included defining moments for each player.
“I think the biggest thing today was that we got quality secondary scoring. We depended a lot on our powerplay and our first line in the first couple of games of the season, but it was really nice to see a lot of other players chipping in and getting involved in the offense here tonight,” Carpentino said.
“This job is taxing. There’s a lot of time away from family. You’re under a microscope and there’s lot of pressure on wins and losses. Kids like Gab, and Gab in particular, make it worthwhile and rewarding to get in there every day and do my job,” Nichols said.
Second-year goalie Aerin Frankel got the start in net for the Huskies, making a 28-save effort to earn her fourth collegiate shutout. The Huskies got on the board about halfway through the first period with a rebound goal on the powerplay by fourth-year forward Kasidy Anderson.
The Huskies have played in five overtime games this year. After three overtime losses early in the season, the Huskies have now won back-to-back overtime games.
The Huskies achieved their first 4-0-0 winning streak to start the CAA season since 2014 and their third winning streak of four or more games under Phillips since 2016.
A new breed was born this past summer as Northeastern Athletics presented their new logo, a new presentation of King Husky, amidst a marketing campaign known as #HowlinHuskies.

Pelletier, who is courageously battling lymphoma, became an official member of the Huskies this past week through a partnership with Team IMPACT, signing a national letter of intent to join the team.
