Head Coach Jim Madigan was suspended for the final two games of the regular season, including Saturday’s Senior Night against Boston University (BU). Madigan was not allowed at his usual post atop the Northeastern bench, but rather on the opposite side of the ice in the press box.
On Monday night, the Boston University Terriors took down the Northeastern Huskies in a 4-3 overtime thriller. The win marked BU's 30th in the Beanpot.

The Huskies received frustrating news on Sunday when they learned that Monday night’s Beanpot final against Boston University would be postponed for two weeks due to the season’s third major snowstorm. The Beanpot finals will now take place on Monday, Feb. 23.
Northeastern University (NU) women’s hockey faced Providence College last Friday. At the end of regulation, the teams were tied at 1-1. NU came out with a victory over Providence in overtime making the final score 2-1. The team then took on Boston University (BU) in the consolation game of the 2015 Beanpot on Tuesday. Despite the women’s best efforts, Northeastern lost to BU by a final score of 3-1.
The Northeastern women’s hockey team picked up a big win against University of Vermont (UVM) last Friday with a final score of 4-3. However, the team couldn’t keep up in the 2015 Beanpot semifinals against undefeated Boston College (BC) on Tuesday night in Cambridge. BC came out on top 3-1.

Last year’s 7-1 loss to Boston College in the first round of the Beanpot left a bad taste in Northeastern students’ mouths – expectations weren’t exactly high for the first round of the 2013 Beanpot against Boston University.
When most Northeastern students think of the annual Beanpot Tournament, the first thing that likely comes to mind for most is the ice hockey tournament that takes place on the first two Mondays in February. But, in the spring Harvard, Boston College, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Northeastern compete in another Boston-wide tournament in the spring: the Baseball Beanpot.
While most sports fans have been focused on the men's basketball team's success or hoping that the men's hockey team would finally win another Beanpot, the women's hockey team slipped under the radar. While they are not quite as good as last year due to the loss of outstanding senior goalie Florence Schelling, they have been very hot recently.
