Field Hockey falls to ODU

Despite junior forward Crystal Poland’s third hat trick of the season last Friday, the Huskies came out 0-2 after their first games in conference play this past weekend. The team lost an away game 6-2 to undefeated Old Dominion Sunday after a 4-3 loss to William and Mary on Friday.

Field hockey gains national recognition

Junior forward Crystal Poland scored her 13th goal of this season last weekend against Stanford, helping raise the team’s overall record to 4-2 and national rank to 18. The team won their first four official games of the season and their first two scrimmages. It was not until last Friday, Sept. 9, that the team recorded its first loss.

After 21 games, the field hockey season ended with a 4-0 loss to Old Dominion University (ODU) in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) playoffs Sunday.

The field hockey team guaranteed itself a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament with a 4-3 overtime win against Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Friday, despite a 4-1 loss to James Madison University (JMU) Sunday. This is the first time Northeastern has been represented in the CAA tournament since 2007.
