The Northeastern men's hockey team cut the University of Massachusetts-Lowell's nine-game winning streak short Friday night in a 4-4 draw at Matthews Arena. The Huskies gave up a 4-2 lead and neither team was able pull ahead in overtime to come away with anything more than a single Hockey East point.

King Husky’s Bark: Seventh heaven

January 24, 2013
During my last three years at Northeastern, it seems that the Husky men’s basketball and hockey teams have followed similar trends. They’ll have unbelievable streaks or surprising wins that will get you excited about the season, mixed in with stretches when the teams will inexplicably struggle, spots of brilliance marred by weeks of disappointment.

Men’s hockey takes down BU, falls to BC

January 24, 2013
As the minutes ticked down in Agganis Arena at Boston University on Friday night, the Terriers and the Huskies were each playing for their lives; tied at 5-5 with three minutes to play. Shortly, it would be Northeastern captain Vinny Saponari banging on the glass and victoriously pointing at the husky on his jersey, having scored the game-winner against his former team.

January 20, 2013

By Jill Saftel, News Staff After an upset at No. 9 Boston University Friday night, the Huskies couldn't pull a weekend sweep in a 9-3 loss to No. 2 Boston College. The defense might not have shown up for the first period, but the offense for both teams definitely did. It...

Dump and Chase: No retreat, no surrender

January 17, 2013
Since Oct. 20, the men’s hockey team has gone 1-8-2 in Hockey East contests. They currently sit second to last in the Hockey East standings and with half as many points as fourth place Providence, home ice in the playoffs simply isn’t going to happen.

Men’s hockey improving with challenging weekend ahead

Huskies and Maine skate to 1-1 draw

January 11, 2013
With two crucial Hockey East points on the line, neither Northeastern nor University of Maine would leave Matthews without at least one point and skated to a 1-1 draw at Matthews Arena. In a chippy matchup, both the Huskies and Black Bears drew several penalties for their gritty play.

Dump and Chase: home games not doing much for Huskies

January 10, 2013
Home games are beneficial for an athletics program. The team makes money on ticket sales and concessions, fans get another chance to see their team, and players don't have to worry about traveling or altering their schedules too much. Home games are great, just don't tell that to the 2,402 fans who watched the Northeastern men's hockey team lose to Bentley University on Saturday.

Ferriero scores four in victory over Harvard

December 29, 2012
Cody Ferriero offset his own penalties with a second-period hat trick and a third-period goal to lift Northeastern over the Harvard Crimson in a 5-1 win. Northeastern hadn't traveled to the Bright Hockey Center to take on the Harvard University Crimson since Dec. 19, 1999, but the Huskies wasted no time setting the tempo in a fast-paced, physical matchup for their first win at the Bright Hockey Center since Jan. 12, 1978.
