Like it’s a surprise, Dunkin’ Donuts was voted “Best Coffee” by Northeastern students. There is nary a student on this campus who hasn’t sacrificed their likelihood of being on time for a fresh (or not so fresh) cup of Dunkin’s coffee goodness.
When there is the temptation of coffee, college students are sure to be there, whether it causes them to get up 15 minutes earlier than they have to, makes them 15 minutes later than they should be, or straight up leaving class (you know you’ve seen someone do it) they’ll get that coffee, relax and let the caffeine sink in.
Sure, the lines can get a tad long, and sure, the waitstaff has about the same chance of getting your order right as you do passing your economics exam with a hangover, but there we wait, just for the chance to grab our much-needed iced coffee on that 32 degree day.
It’s more than an addiction; Dunkin’ Donuts coffee is a way of life around Northeastern. It’s like brushing your teeth, or waiting in line at payroll, it’s just become an everyday part of life, and perhaps the greatest thing this administration has ever done for its students.
Forget canceling Ludacris, the Sox losing to the Yankees, or even the Pats winning the Super Bowl; if Northeastern really wants to see angry students, imagine thousands of cranky undergrads tearing down buildings if Dunkin’ ever shut its doors.
The bottom line is, whether it be small, medium or large, Dunkin’ Donuts coffee brings just an ounce of happiness into a Northeastern student’s life. And face it, it’s the only thing on this campus the school hasn’t jacked the price up on — yet.
