Northeastern fraternity wins awards at conference Northeastern’s chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity was awarded the Founders Circle Award, given to the top three chapters nationwide, at it’s annual Grand Conclave in Las Vegas July 17, said John Guilfoil, Kappa Sigma’s director of public relations. The event brought together over 250 chapters of the largest nationwide fraternity. “We’re one of the top three of the No. 1, which is just huge for New England,” Guilfoil said. Shawn Cray and Tom Kelly were recognized for their positions as president and treasurer, respectively, and Justin Hansen was awarded Undergraduate Brother of the Year. Northeastern’s chapter was also recognized as one of the top 25 chapters nationwide for recruitment, Guilfoil said.
