With the temperatures increasing daily, the tendency to slip into miniskirts, tank-tops and muscle shirts is rising. However, the message of those tight “wife beaters” and skimpy halter tops can be misconstrued. News Staff writer Meghan Colloton talked to two subjects, one male and one female, to hear what they think their clothes say about them. She then spoke to a third party of the opposite sex to see what mixed signals may be sent by the attire, and got a professional perspective.
What she says: “I don’t wear things because I want people to think certain things about me,” said Jennifer Berndt, left, a sophomore biology major. “When I choose what I am wearing in the morning, I just want people to think my outfit is cute and I look good. That’s it.”
What a peer says: “When females wear those skirts and tank tops, they’re giving off vibes of sexual tension,” said Kennie Swanson, a middler communications major. “They wear less clothes to stay cooler and to have guys notice them.
