Moby has accepted the Council for University Programs’ (CUP) bid, making him the third and final performer for this year’s Springfest concert, according to CUP members. Rapper Mos Def and ska band Less Than Jake, the other two acts on the bill, have been confirmed by CUP.
“I am very excited,” said Josh Pratt, CUP concert chair. “We’ve got to [please a] huge audience and we always try and get the best we can get for Northeastern.”
The concert will open with Less Than Jake, followed by Moby, with Mos Def headlining the event.
After the concert, students will have the chance to see Dennis Haskins, one of the stars of the ’90s television show “Saved by the Bell,” who played Bayside High Principal Richard Belding. CUP announced at Monday’s Springfest meeting Haskins will be doing a lecture after the Springfest concert, although this can not yet be officially confirmed for legal reasons.
CUP President Allyson Savin admitted to being a little unsure of the diverse bill at first, but said she believes it has all worked out for the best.
