Thursday Feb. 3
11 a.m.
A member of the Athletic Department staff reported sneakers missing from a secured varsity locker room in the Cabot building. The shoes were last seen Saturday, Jan. 29, and were reported missing when they didn’t turn up by Thursday. There were no signs of forced entry into the locker room.
11:30 a.m.
The manager of Wollaston’s in the Marino Center detained a high school student for shoplifting. The student was banned from both Wollaston’s stores on campus. The student’s high school headmaster and parents were notified.
6 p.m.
A Boston University student reported her iPod was stolen from an unlocked, unattended room on the third floor of the Curry Center on Jan. 22 while she was performing at AfterHOURS from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday Feb. 4
1 a.m.
A resident assistant (RA) in Melvin Hall reported that an 18-year-old student was vomiting on the fourth floor. The student said he had been drinking off campus. He was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and reported to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR).
11 p.m.
A student reported that, as he walked down Gainsborough Street near Our House East, a man approached him from behind with a small pocket knife, grabbed the student’s iPhone, and fled. The knife inflicted a minor wound on the student’s hand. The Boston Police Department (BPD) is investigating.
Saturday Feb. 5
11 p.m.
An RA found an intoxicated 19-year-old student in the lobby of White Hall. The student was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and reported to OSCCR.
11:45 p.m.
Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officers responded to 79 Gainsborough St. to investigate reports of a woman who was heavily intoxicated and vomiting. The woman, a 21-year-old student, was evaluated by EMTs and sent home with a family member. She has been reported to OSCCR.
Sunday Feb. 6
12:30 a.m.
An NUPD officer noticed a female drinking from a can of beer on the sidewalk in front of NUPD headquarters. The woman, a 20-year-old student, saw the officer approaching and tried to put the can in her pocket. The officer supervised as she disposed of the remaining beer in the can. The student was not intoxicated, and was reported to OSCCR.
2:30 a.m.
Entry of the Week: An NUPD officer came upon two groups of male students in a fist fight at the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Forsyth Street. As the officer arrived, the groups separated. One group, made up of three Northeastern students, and the other group, made up of one Northeastern student and two visiting friends, had been walking separately and had a snowball fight. The snowball fight escalated to a fist fight resulting in one student getting a black eye and another a bloody nose. The students cooperated, shook hands with each other, and were sent on their way. All Northeastern students were reported to OSCCR.
12 p.m.
The manager at Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported he was detaining a shoplifter. The shoplifter, a student, had put cheese into his pocket, paid for some other items, and tried to leave. The student was stopped at the door. The manager said the student was condescending and unapologetic, and decided to file criminal charges. The student was also reported to OSCCR.
5 p.m.
A student reported he left an expensive pair of gloves in the lobby of White Hall and returned to find them missing. NUPD interviewed the proctor, who said another student had picked them up and entered the building. After watching surveillance footage, officers went to interview the student who was seen picking up the gloves.
11:30 p.m.
A Northeastern student was assaulted on the field by an opposing player during a soccer tournament at MIT. After the game, the student went to a hospital and was treated for facial injuries. After looking at rosters for the other team and Facebook profiles, the student reported a Northeastern student as the assailant. MIT police and NUPD detectives are investigating the case.
Monday Feb. 7
4 p.m.
NUPD receive a report that an overhead projector was missing from a classroom in West Village F. The projector was not secured over the weekend. NUPD officers are investigating.
