Students on low budgets are always looking to find the best deals, whether they be on restaurant.com, Groupon or LivingSocial. But there is another website out there that is little-known and aims to save students bigs bucks – TUN.com (The University Network.)
The website, which launched earlier this year, allows visitors to type in the name of their college or university and view deals for students at nearby bars, restaurants, tanning salons, fitness clubs and more. Unlike other discount sites, these deals already exist at the given location – but students may be unaware of the discounts available to them.
TUN.com presents Northeastern students with 152 businesses that offer a total of 934 daily deals and student discounts.
“If you look at the average amount of debt students are carrying with them these days, the numbers are astronomical,” said Shannon Eberly, manager of marketing and sales at TUN.com. “Our main goal is to continue to save students money. We are on target to reach 50 percent of the U.S. college audience by year end, and there’s much more in store for 2012.”
