The organization was founded in 1988 and works in 16 countries around the world. The sorority will hold sign-ups on the ground floor of Curry Student Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week. In “Magic Is There,” two brothers (played by real-life brothers) journey to the North Pole. In “Here Comes Santa Claus,” we learn how Santa can be in two (or more) places at once. The String Cheese Incident (SCI), a jam band from Colorado, is coming to the Orpheum Theatre, just one week into their Roots Run Deep tour. Their music is strongly influenced by bluegrass sounds, rock, funk, jazz, Latin, reggae and even psychedelia. SCI describes itself as a democratic ensemble rather than a band, since all of the members contribute their own original compositions to the group’s library and share the vocals on a number of covers as well as their own songs. 1 Hamilton Place; 7:30 p.m.; $53 to $168; 21+; www.orpheum-theater.com.
