11 a.m.
A staff member at the NU Hillel Center reported that a sign outside the building was missing since June 15. A new sign was installed on the building.
2:24 p.m.
A student reported that her bike, valued at $1,000, was taken from a fence at the Columbus Surface Parking Lot. The bike had been secured to the fence with a U-lock. The fence had been cut to gain access to the bike.
Wednesday, June 20
5:37 a.m.
Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officers responded to an altercation in front of 650 Columbus Ave. between a 37-year-old man and 45-year-old woman. The subjects, who have no university affiliation, said they were doing drugs together on Lenox Street and had stolen each others’ cell phones. The man reported that he was assaulted by the woman. The Boston Police Department (BPD) responded and assumed jurisdiction.
12:06 p.m.
A proctor at 10 Coventry St. reported that a student took another student’s phone. An officer spoke with the victim, who reported that the other student took her phone after a verbal argument. Officers spoke with the suspect, recovered the phone and returned it to the owner. The students were ordered to stay away from each other for the rest of the day.
7:25 p.m.
An officer stopped two students, both under the age of 21, in the alley behind a Hemenway Street building for possession of alcohol. One student was found in possession of a fake ID. The alcohol and fake ID were confiscated.
Thursday, June 21
1:01 p.m.
A graduate student reported that a motorist was trying to assault a bicyclist in front of a New England Conservatory building on Huntington Avenue. An officer responded and located the victim, a conservatory student, who said that the suspect punched him in the face two or three times with a closed fist. BPD was notified, responded and assumed jurisdiction.
4:50 p.m.
A student residing at 36 St. Stephen St. reported that her keys and ID case were stolen from the lock in her apartment door, where she left them after entering. The student’s ATM card was later used. The student was told to file a report with BPD.
Friday, June 22
5:24 a.m.
A student reported that approximately $400 was taken out of his wallet in the library. The student told an officer that he saw a man go through his backpack and take the cash out of his wallet. Officers checked the area but could not locate the suspect.
Sunday, June 24
1:18 a.m.
A resident of 774 Columbus Ave. reported that there was a party with loud music and people on the roof nearby. Responding officers spoke with two residents, who are Northeastern students. The officers cleared out the guests without incident and the music was turned off for the night.
Monday, June 25
7:24 a.m.
A facilities staff member reported that two benches between Hayden Hall and the Curry Student Center were damaged. A responding officer reported that the damage appeared to have been caused by a vehicle.
5:15 p.m.
A student reported that his laptop was stolen near InfoCommons in Snell Library. The student said he left the laptop unattended between 7:50 a.m. and noon. When he returned, the laptop was missing.
Tuesday, June 26
3:16 a.m.
A proctor in Willis Hall reported that there was a male passed out in a stall in the men’s bathroom in the basement. A responding officer found an 18-year-old male, with no university affiliation, fully-clothed and sitting on the toilet seat. An 18-year-old female student was found sleeping on the couch in the basement common area. Both were cooperative and alert but admitted to drinking earlier in the night. Both were escorted to the female’s room in Willis Hall.
12:23 p.m.
A student reported that her vehicle had been broken into while parked in the West Village Parking Garage. The student said she left the vehicle unlocked and two GPS devices were missing.
1:37 p.m.
A student reported that his iPhone 4S was stolen from the third floor of Snell Library, where he left it unattended.
8:18 p.m.
An officer responded to Ruggles Station and met with Transit Police and a student who reported that two males snatched her phone as she waited for an outbound train on the lower platform. Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspects.
Wednesday, June 27
7:07 a.m.
A manager at the Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported that he detained a male subject who attempted to steal candy. An officer spoke with the juvenile, who had previously trespassed in both Wollaston’s locations on campus.
7:56 p.m.
A student reported that his bicycle was stolen from the West Village A bicycle racks between June 15 and June 20.
Thursday, June 28
4:08 p.m.
A student reported that her iPhone was stolen in front of Smith Hall. Officers checked the area but could not locate any suspects. BPD responded and assumed jurisdiction.
5:47 p.m.
A staff member at Snell Library reported that a female student employee approached him and said that a male was acting inappropriately toward her. The female student employee said that a 66-year-old part-time evening student touched himself in the crotch. The male denied that he touched himself inappropriately.
Friday, June 29
2:48 a.m.
A caller reported that a man with a cane was exposing himself to passersby in front of the Museum of Fine Arts. Officers checked the area and stopped a man, who has no university affiliation, at Huntington Avenue and Museum Road. BPD responded and assumed jurisdiction.
12:26 p.m.
A construction worker approached an officer in front of Cahners Hall to report that he had been verbally assaulted by a man on the Fenway across from Melvin Hall. The subject stated that he had a knife and was not afraid to use it. An officer responded and checked one suspect for a criminal history with no results. BPD responded and assumed jurisdiction.
5:28 p.m.
A caller reported that a shirtless male appeared to be stealing a bicycle in front of the Marino Center. Responding officers spoke with someone with no university affiliation who they witnessed actively removing parts of a bicycle with an adjustable wrench. BPD responded and assumed jurisdiction. The subject will be summonsed to court once the owner of the bike is identified.
9:08 p.m.
Staff at Snell Library reported that a man identifying himself as a student refused to provide proper identification. He had been denied access to the library but refused to leave and was becoming increasingly agitated and disorderly. Responding officers spoke with the man, who was uncooperative with the officers. Officers advised him of the library’s ID policy. The man was denied access and left the area.
Saturday, June 30
10:09 p.m.
BPD reported that an armed robbery was in progress behind the Massachusetts Avenue T Station. The suspect was allegedly brandishing a silver handgun and running on foot towards Tremont Street. Officers checked the area but could not locate the suspect. BPD was with the victim, who is not affiliated with the university, in the Carter Playground area.
Sunday, July 1
4:18 a.m.
A Resident Director reported that there was a fight outside of West Village A North on Parker Street. Officers reported that the fight had broken up prior to their arrival. No injuries or victims could be identified.
3:44 p.m.
A student moving into a room in Willis Hall reported to the RA on call that he observed drug paraphernalia on the table in the common room. A responding officer confiscated the material.
Tuesday, July 3
1:25 a.m.
A caller reported that a male vomited and was lying on the ground behind the YMCA. A responding officer reported that a YMCA resident, who has no university affiliation, was intoxicated. Boston EMS responded and transported the man to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
