Monday, July 16
8:42 a.m.
A staff member flagged down an officer and reported broken glass behind 10 Coventry St. The officer reported that it appeared as though someone in another building was throwing bottles in the area. There were about 20 broken bottles. The officer filed a work report.

8:41 p.m.
An employee at Boloco in the Marino Center reported she was scammed out of $50 by two men in their 60s. The employee said the men confused her by paying with a variety of bills and then rescinded their payment to instead pay with different denominations of bills. After the men left the store, the employee realized that they had taken $50.

11:42 p.m.
A student reported his bicycle missing from outside West Village H, where he left it from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Tuesday, July 17
1:07 p.m.
A 10-year-old child, who has no university affiliation, walked into Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) headquarters and reported that his 12-year-old cousin, who lives on Tremont Street with his grandmother, had threatened to beat him up. He also said that his cousin had hit him in the head. The boy’s aunt came to headquarters and reported that this was an ongoing problem and that reports had already been filed with the Boston juvenile courts. The Boston Police Department (BPD) responded and assumed jurisdiction.

1:22 p.m.
A Chartwells manager reported that his iPhone 4S was stolen around 10:30 a.m. from the Stetson West Dining Hall.

3:28 p.m.
A student reported that his iPhone was stolen and that he was tracking the phone using GPS. The GPS tracker indicated the phone was in a locker assigned to an alumnus in the Marino Center. The phone was located and returned to the student. The student did not want to press charges.

6:36 p.m.
A student reported that someone stole the seat from her bicycle in Fencourt Alley at Hemenway Street.

8:16 p.m.
A student reported that he had secured his bicycle to the rack outside Wollaston’s in the Marino Center at 7:45 a.m. and upon his return at 8 p.m. found only the front tire still secured to the rack.

10:03 p.m.
A City Year volunteer reported that his bicycle was missing from the rack outside of International Village. He had secured his bicycle to the rack with a cable lock at 5 p.m.

Wednesday, July 18
12:12 a.m.
An employee of Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported that there were two suspicious males near the bicycle racks. Responding officers stopped two people matching the descriptions given by the employee. Both suspects were in possession of bicycles and one had a backpack containing bolt cutters. A cut bike lock was on the ground near the bike rack. An officer confiscated the bolt cutters, a cut cable lock, and a bike believed to be stolen. Both suspects will be summonsed to court for larceny over $250.

11:33 a.m.
A manager at Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported that he detained a shoplifter. The shoplifter, a student, was given a trespass ban from both Wollaston’s stores. The student will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) for the theft of a sandwich.

3:46 p.m.
A student told a proctor in White Hall that there was a man sleeping on the fifth floor. Responding officers found that the man had an extensive criminal history. Officers found hypodermic needles in his possession and reported that he had likely injected himself with a drug. The man was lethargic and had an altered mental state. Boston EMS transported the man to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Prior to his transport, he was issued a trespass warning.

4:38 p.m.
A student reported that her Kindle Fire was stolen from Room 204 in the Behrakis Health Sciences Center after she fell asleep.
Thursday, July 19

10:33 a.m.
A conference visitor reported that $2 was stolen from her room in International Village.

10:40 a.m.
A conference visitor reported that a $30 T-shirt and $1 was stolen from his room in International Village.

12:09 p.m.
A student reported that her unattended backpack containing a lunchbox and wallet was stolen from the patio outside Snell Library.

6:08 p.m.
A student reported that an unknown man tapped his female friend on the rear end as he walked by them and continued walking across Tremont Street towards Whittier Street. Officers checked the area but could not locate the suspect.

Sunday, July 22
11:25 a.m.
A man reported that he was threatened with a knife inside Ruggles Station. Another man, with no university affiliation, told responding officers that someone had been playing with a folding knife inside the station but had not threatened him in any way. The knife-wielding man was last seen walking in the direction of Forsyth Street towards Huntington Avenue. Officers checked the area for the suspect but could not find anyone fitting the description. Transit Police were notified.

11:58 a.m.
A student was robbed at knife-point by the suspect from the above entry. The student was not injured, but the suspect took an iPhone 4S. The suspect was last seen running over the footbridge near the  Egan Research Center toward Columbus Avenue. Transit Police and BPD were notified.

11:31 p.m.
BPD reported that shots were fired at 54 Annunciation Road. and that two male suspects fled by bicycle towards Prentiss Street. Officers checked the surrounding areas for suspects and BPD later reported they had both suspects in custody. An NUPD officer reported that he was with a victim of the shooting who has no university affiliation. BPD assumed jurisdiction.

Monday, July 23
2:39 a.m.
Officers stopped a man with no university affiliation who was stripping a bicycle for parts on Hemenway Street. The suspect has a criminal history. BPD responded but declined jurisdiction. The suspect will be summonsed to court. The bicycle parts were stored as evidence.

7:34 a.m.
A transportation manager for university-owned vehicles reported that several windows of trucks parked at 1 Marbury Terrace were smashed overnight. A responding officer reported that three trucks each had one window smashed.

9:11 a.m.
A staff member in Richards Hall reported she was concerned about an email a student sent to her on Saturday. The student had become aggressive on the phone in the past with both the staff member and another staff member. A responding officer reported that the student arrived at Richards Hall and was upset over the distribution of his financial aid. He was sent on his way with a warning.

10:21 a.m.
The Husky Card manager in Hayden Hall reported that an alumnus attempted to get a Husky Card, but his name was flagged as a person not allowed to get a new Husky Card. The alumnus had prior violations and trespass warnings. An officer informed the man he was not allowed to get a new Husky Card and he was issued another trespass warning.

10:31 a.m.
A staff member in Ell Hall reported that her office was broken into over the weekend. A responding officer reported that two MacBook Pro laptops were stolen.

2:52 p.m.
While doing a follow-up investigation to a previous case, officers confiscated drug paraphernalia and a bottle of alcohol from a room in Willis Hall.

9:47 p.m.
Officers spoke with the residents of a room in Willis Hall about an odor of Class D drugs. The two students admitted to smoking a joint in their room earlier in the evening.

Wednesday, July 25
4:56 p.m.
Staff in the Marino Center reported that a man was harassing passersby in front of Au Bon Pain. A responding officer reported that the man in question was panhandling and using profane language. Officers stopped the man, who has no university affiliation and a criminal history. He was given a trespass warning for all university property.

10:08 p.m.
BPD reported that a man with a knife assaulted a person at Cunard and Tremont streets. NUPD officers stopped the suspect at Douglass Park and BPD placed the man into custody. Neither the suspect nor victim had any university affiliation.

Thursday, July 26
2  p.m.
A staff member in the Behrakis Health Sciences Center reported that someone may have broken into her office because she saw some paper towels on the floor but nothing appeared to be missing. A responding officer reported that the first person in the office arrived at 8:15 a.m. That person noticed that some doors were open and the door leading into a certain suite was propped open with some paper towels. There were no signs of forced entry.

4:42 p.m.
A staff member reported that a camcorder was missing from a room in Nightingale Hall.

7:48 p.m.
An officer reported stopping two males at 8 Coventry St. for suspicious activity. One of the men was found to have three outstanding warrants and was taken into custody. The other was sent on his way.

Friday, July 27
10:11 a.m.
A staff member in Holmes Hall reported that someone was screaming at the end of the first floor hallway. Responding officers reported that there had been a fight between two female attendees of the “Write Boston: Teens in Print” program but that it had ended prior to the officers’ arrival. Officers spoke with the two females. Neither female wished to press charges. One went home for the day and the other stayed on campus. The program coordinator was told to contact NUPD should there be further problems.

11:33 a.m.
A staff member in Hayden Hall reported receiving information from an instructor that one of her students had been acting inappropriately and was making her and other students feel threatened in class. The staff member reported that the student would be withdrawn from the class as a result of his behavior.

12:57 p.m.
A manager of Wollaston’s in the Marino Center reported that he had detained a shoplifter in his store. Responding officers spoke with a “Write Boston: Teens in Print” male attendee. The suspect was issued a trespass warning for both Wollaston’s markets and the Marino Center. The suspect was sent to his program for the day. An officer told the program coordinator about the incident.

Saturday, July 28
11:10 a.m.
A student reported that he was assaulted in front of Snell Library by a man who also stole his iPhone. A responding officer reported that the victim had injured his head on the bike racks. Boston EMS treated the victim, who declined to be transported to a hospital. The suspect was last seen on Melnea Cass Boulevard, turning left onto Tremont Street. Officers checked the area but could not locate the suspect.

Sunday, July 29
2:46 a.m.
A proctor reported that an intoxicated student had entered Willis Hall. Responding officers reported that the student, age 21, was conscious but unsteady on his feet. Boston EMS responded and determined the student could stay in his room.

Monday, July 30
1:50 a.m.
The Massachusetts State Police notified Transit Police that there was a man in Ruggles Station suffering from a head injury and claiming someone was trying to kill him. NUPD officers located the man, who had a minor laceration to his head, on the lower bus way. The man has no university affiliation. Transit Police responded and assumed jurisdiction. Boston EMS responded and treated the man for the head injury. The victim reported that he had been assaulted in the Grove Hall section of Boston an hour before.
