Entry of the Week: Saturday, Feb. 2, 11:37 p.m.
A female Northeastern student reported a college-aged male passed out on the floor of a room in Davenport Commons A. She reported the subject woke up, and when he realized she was on the phone with NUPD, attempted to leave the area. She also reported the man was repeatedly vomiting. Officers responded and found the 19-year-old Northeastern student, who was intoxicated and semi-alert. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and took the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Monday, Jan. 28
10:27 a.m.
An administrative assistant in Holmes Hall reported a man attempted to steal a laptop from a staff member. The staff member was able to grab the laptop from the man, who then ran down the stairs toward Lake Hall. Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officers checked the area with no results.
7:14 p.m.
A student in Shillman Hall reported a man attacked two other men in front of the building. Officers responded and located the two victims, who reported the man assaulted them but did not ask for any money. Officers stopped a suspect fitting the description in the Ruggles MBTA station. The victims, who were Northeastern students, were able to identify the subject, who was not affiliated with Northeastern. Officers issued the man a trespass warning and sent him on his way. The students did not sustain any injuries.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
11:05 a.m.
Officers in Ryder Hall reported graffiti in the first floor men’s room. A work order was issued.
12:44 p.m.
The manager of the Marino Center Wollaston’s Market reported that his staff detained a shoplifter. Officers responded and found the man, who was not affiliated with Northeastern. He was sent on his way with a trespassing warning for all Northeastern property.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
9:52 a.m.
A faculty member in the Snell Engineering building reported that he accidentally left his Sony laptop in a computer lab the previous day between 8:15 and 9:30 p.m., and when he returned the computer was gone.
11:35 a.m.
A Northeastern student reported their unattended Dell laptop computer was stolen from an unsecured lab in Snell Engineering between 7 p.m. the the previous night and 10 a.m. that morning.
6:59 p.m.
A Northeastern student walked to NUPD headquarters to request a restraining order against her boyfriend, who lives in Warwick, R.I. and has no affiliation with Northeastern. Officers reported the student is not in fearful for her life but for her safety. She declined a safe room and did not immediately put in for a restraining order but said she would return in the morning to speak with detectives.
Thursday, Jan. 31
12:24 p.m.
A Northeastern staff member in Cargill Hall reported that her purse went missing from her office 10 minutes prior to her call. Officers responded and located the purse and a screw driver down the hall, which may be connected to the case. The staff member reported her wallet missing from the bag.
3:18 p.m.
A Northeastern student in Davenport Commons A reported her jacket was stolen from the lobby the prior Saturday.
3:46 p.m.
A Northeastern staff member reported that six high school-aged students were entering West Village G. He reported that one was verbally disrespectful. Officers responded and sent the subjects on their way.
10:04 p.m.
Officers reported assisting MBTA Transit Police in placing a person into custody at Ruggles Station for possession of a knife with a 12-inch blade. The subject had no affiliation with Northeastern.
Friday, Feb. 1
1:59 p.m.
A Northeastern student in Stetson East reported his unattended iPhone was stolen from the Stetson East dining hall.
9:46 p.m.
Boston Police reported responding to West Village B on a report of a man with a firearm. NUPD officers responded and spoke with a homeless man and the cousin of a student living in West Village B. The two men had been in a dispute over the homeless man’s request to stay in the room. No firearm was located. The student was relocated to another room and the cousin left campus. The homeless man was transported to the Pine Street Inn.
Saturday, Feb. 2
3:17 a.m.
A proctor at Douglass Park reported two men fighting outside of a room on the Tremont Street side. Officers responded to 803 Tremont St. and spoke to four Northeastern students. The students reported that two men got into an altercation over a female Northeastern student. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) took one intoxicated student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Residence Director (RD) was notified.
6:12 a.m.
Officers reported an intoxicated female in front of West Village A. Officers spoke to the 20-year-old Northeastern student who was conscious and alert. She stated she had been drinking at an off-campus location and declined medical attention.
11:33 a.m.
A Northeastern student reported leaving a backpack containing his wallet and laptop unattended on the second floor of the Curry Student Center for 10 minutes. He reported that when he returned, the backpack was gone.
3:24 p.m.
A proctor at West Village B reported a Northeastern student in West Village E had been receiving threatening notes. Officers responded and found the notes unthreatening.
Sunday, Feb. 3
12:17 a.m.
An RA on duty reported the smell of marijuana outside of a room in White Hall. Officers responded and spoke with four Northeastern students. Officers confiscated drug paraphernalia and several bottles of alcohol.
12:46 a.m.
A proctor at 163 Hemenway St. reported an intoxicated man signing in to the building. The student was staggering and vomiting. Officers spoke with the 19-year-old student and had EMS transport him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
5:26 a.m.
An RA on duty in Speare Hall reported damage to an exit sign on the third floor by the elevator. Officers responded and found the sign smashed and dangling. A work order was filed.
6:31 p.m.
A Northeastern student on the third floor of Kariotis Hall reported his laptop stolen from a classroom area. Officers checked the area with no results.
8:26 p.m.
Officers reported Boston Police were responding to 8 Coventry St. for a domestic violence incident. Officers responded and found an intoxicated student, who had no Northeastern affiliation, crying on the sidewalk. Boston Police assumed jurisdiction.
