Entry of the Week: Tuesday, Feb. 12, 8:23 p.m.
The Stetson East dining hall manager reported that on Feb. 9 at 8 p.m., six men were drinking beer in the cafeteria and subsequently engaged in a food fight. The manager escorted the students out of the cafeteria. The manager requested that officers make random checks of the cafeteria to discourage such conduct.
Tuesday, Feb. 12
10:18 a.m.
A student reported her cell phone was stolen somewhere between Au Bon Pain in the Marino Center and the Sacred Space in Ell Hall the previous afternoon.
12:34 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) in International Village reported graffiti on a fifth-floor wall. Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officers responded and found a sign that had inappropriate comments written on it on the door of a room. Officers spoke with the residents, who said they did not know who had written the comments.
1:58 p.m.
A student reported his cell phone was stolen from the Stetson East dining hall after he left it unattended for 20 minutes.
5:15 p.m.
A student reported his phone was stolen from his room in International Village. The student’s roommate said he was in and out of the room all day and left the door unsecured.
A staff member in the Knowles Center reported her wallet was stolen from her unsecured office.
Wednesday, Feb. 13
12:13 a.m.
A student reported loud noises coming from the alley behind 115 St. Stephen St. Officers responded and spoke with a student who was playing with another student in the snow. The students agreed to keep the noise down.
10:32 a.m.
An officer reported seeing graffiti on the side wall of Davenport Commons B.
2:36 p.m.
A person reported that five kids were sitting in the stairwell between the fourth and fifth floor of the Renaissance Parking Garage, smoking marijuana. Officers responded and found three people who had no Northeastern affiliation and two students. Officers confiscated a glass pipe and a small amount of marijuana. The unaffiliated people were given trespass warnings.
8:42 p.m.
A student in Dockser Hall reported his wallet had been stolen. Officers responded and spoke to the student, who said two men took the wallet and fled in an unknown direction. The student reported he left his backpack and laptop unattended for a short time and when he returned he noticed one of the men walking off with his laptop. He confronted the man and the laptop was returned, but he later discovered his wallet was missing from his backpack.
Thursday, Feb. 14
7:58 a.m.
An RA in International Village reported there was a 40- to 50-year-old man sitting in the lobby, “looking creepy.” The man was checked by officers and reported he was just trying to get warm, but also became aggressive when asked why he was in the building. The man was issued a trespassing violation and was escorted from the building.
2:34 p.m.
An officer reported finding graffiti on the rear wall of Cahners Hall.
Friday, Feb. 15
12:47 a.m.
NUPD received a call reporting an unresponsive female was on the ground, in the snow, on Huntington Avenue near Parker Street. Officers responded and found two Northeastern students in the snow, both apparently intoxicated. Officers said both students were conscious but not alert. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
2:02 a.m.
The mother of a student called to report that her daughter had complained to her about loud students on the first floor of Light Hall, who were possibly intoxicated. Officers responded and spoke to an intoxicated Northeastern student, who declined medical attention.
2:10 a.m.
While dealing with the above case, officers reported confiscating a pipe from a room in Light Hall. The residents denied ownership.
3:18 p.m.
NUPD officers saw roughly 100 people gathered in front of Richards Hall. Officers responded to ask about the gathering and spoke with two students who reported it was a re-creation of the “Harlem Shake,” organized through Facebook.
4:08 p.m.
A staff member in Centennial Common reported a young couple in the area asking people for money. Officers responded and checked the area but did not find anyone.
Saturday, Feb. 16
12:46 a.m.
A proctor at 153 Hemenway St. reported an intoxicated student swiped into the building and went into a room. Officers responded and spoke with an 18-year-old student who was conscious and somewhat alert, but vomiting.
5:54 a.m.
A proctor in Speare Hall reported a man was sleeping in the lobby. The man was unresponsive when the proctor tried to wake him. Officers responded and found the man to be an 18-year-old student who was conscious but not fully alert. Boston EMS responded and allowed the student to stay in his room.
1:11 p.m.
A student reported her Husky Card and cell phone were stolen from her coat pocket while attending a yoga class that day at the Sacred Space between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The card was deactivated.
Sunday, Feb. 17
1:57 a.m.
A student reported loud music coming from a room in Willis Hall and said he believed a party may have been going on. Officers responded and reported speaking to the residents who agreed to shut off the music for the night and all guests in the apartment returned to their residences.
2:46 a.m.
A proctor in International Village reported two students were helping an intoxicated resident into the building. The student was having trouble standing up. Officers responded but there was no answer at the student’s residence. Officers then checked the room and were unable to locate the student. At 3:18 a.m. the proctor called NUPD and said a friend of the student told him he was severely intoxicated in another room and requested the officer’s assistance. Officers and Boston EMS responded. EMS transported the student to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
5:31 p.m.
A Northeastern student in West Village E reported several personal items were stolen from her room.
9:34 p.m.
A Northeastern student reported he was being threatened via phone by a group of Wentworth Institute of Technology students. Officers responded and reported the student did not want to file a report. He stated that he had previously dated a Wentworth student, who, along with his friends, had been making threats via voice and text messages. The incident had been ongoing since last March. Wentworth police were notified.
Monday, Feb. 18
12:16 a.m.
An RA at Davenport Commons A reported he found a broken exit sign on the sixth floor. Officers responded and located the broken sign. NUPD filed a work order to have the sign replaced.
4:53 a.m.
A student at 171 Hemenway St. reported loud music coming from the basement of his building. Officers responded and reported the music was coming from an apartment, and the residents of the apartment did not answer the door but had shut off the music. Officers cleared the area.
