Entry of the Week: Thursday, March 14, 10:52 a.m.
The manager of the Northeastern bookstore reported he had video footage of a student stealing books and selling them back to the bookstore. Officers responded and filed a report.
Friday, March 15, 9:28 a.m.
While officers were conducting a follow-up on the bookstore theft case reported the previous Thursday, the suspect walked into the bookstore. Officers reported the student attempted to steal another book before they stopped him. The student was reported to OSCCR.
Monday, March 11
6:52 p.m.
A Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officer reported new graffiti on the rear quarter of the university’s warehouse on Marbury Terrace in Jamaica Plain. He filed a work order.
Tuesday, March 12
3:39 p.m.
A student reported her unattended laptop had been stolen at approximately 2:30 p.m. from the first floor of Curry Student Center (CSC).
6:29 p.m.
A Marino Center staff member reported a man was aggressively panhandling in front of the gym. Officers checked the area but did not find the man. They then reported spotting the man walking down Forsyth Street and entering the Shillman Hall lobby. Officers stopped the man, who is not affiliated with Northeastern, and took him into custody for trespassing after he became aggressive.
7:21 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) in Stetson West reported finding marijuana while conducting a room check. Officers responded, spoke with two students and confiscated a small amount of marijuana.
Wednesday, March 13
12:06 p.m.
A person with no affiliation to the university reported that a woman kicked a door and broke a window as she exited Symphony Market and was last seen headed toward Gainsborough Street. Boston Police responded and assumed jurisdiction.
1:42 p.m.
A student reported her unattended cell phone was stolen from CSC earlier that morning.
2:54 p.m.
A student in Dodge Hall reported her unattended wallet was stolen sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 14
11:41 a.m.
A manager at the Columbus Parking Lot reported finding a vehicle with a fake decal sticker. Officers responded and found the vehicle was registered to a person with no Northeastern affiliation, but the decal number was registered to a student who owns a different vehicle. Officers confiscated the fake decal and the vehicle was towed.
7:06 p.m.
An officer was flagged down by a person with no university affiliation, who reported his unattended phone was stolen from 140 The Fenway while he was attending a function.
Friday, March 15
6:22 a.m.
An RA in the YMCA building reported a man passed out and covered in urine in the seventh floor hallway. Officers responded and found the man to be a 19-year-old student who was conscious but not fully alert. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and reported the student did not need to go to the hospital. Officers confiscated three cans of beer. The student was told to get dressed and to return to his room.
8:41 a.m.
A customer service employee in the Speare Hall ResNet office reported two men were using a Husky Card to have repairs done on a computer that was not owned by a student. He reported they were being cooperative but wanted an officer to respond in case the situation escalated. Officers responded and reported one of the men had no university affiliation and had trespassed on Northeastern property. The second man, a student, was referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) for letting the man use his Husky Card for computer repairs.
10:10 a.m.
A student reported the rear tire of his bike was stolen while chained to the bike racks outside West Village A.
7:54 p.m.
A student reported his unattended wallet was stolen from Snell Library earlier that day.
9:24 p.m.
An RA reported her wallet was stolen earlier in the evening while working in the staff office area of Speare Hall.
Saturday, March 16
12:08 p.m.
A proctor in Speare Hall reported an intoxicated male student signed into a room. He reported the student was unsteady on his feet. Officers responded and reported no answer at the student’s door. Officers gained entry with an RA and spoke to the student who was conscious but not alert. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Officers also confiscated an ID card that did not belong to the student.
12:49 a.m.
A proctor in Stetson East reported an intoxicated female student signed into the building. The student appeared to be unsteady on her feet. Officers spoke with the 19-year-old student and reported she was conscious but not alert. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
12:58 a.m.
A proctor in Kerr Hall reported an intoxicated student in the lobby who seemed unsteady on her feet. Officers responded and spoke with a 19-year-old student who was semi-conscious. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and cleaning services employees cleaned vomit from the student in the lobby.
2:12 a.m.
An RA in Stetson East reported an intoxicated female student was vomiting in the bathroom and appeared semi-conscious at the time. Officers responded and reported speaking with the 18-year-old student who was conscious and alert. She admitted to consuming alcohol.
3:11 a.m.
Boston Police reported a man had stabbed his girlfriend at 66 The Fenway and was possibly still in the apartment. Officers responded and found multiple Boston Police officers at the scene. Boston Police took the man into custody. He had no Northeastern affiliation.
3:53 a.m.
An RA in Stetson West reported an unconscious man in a room. Officers responded and found a student covered in vomit, conscious but not alert. He had a small abrasion under his right eye. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
2:07 p.m.
An RA in International Village reported smelling the odor of marijuana. Officers responded, spoke to two students and confiscated a small amount of marijuana.
3:03 p.m.
An officer reported a severely intoxicated 19-year-old student had fallen down the stairs and had a laceration on his chin. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
11:04 p.m.
An RA in 110 St. Stephen St. reported she was with a student who had cuts on his face and seemed intoxicated. Officers responded and spoke to the University of Connecticut student, who was intoxicated and unable to walk. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Sunday, March 17
12:55 a.m.
An RA reported an intoxicated man on the steps of Kerr Hall. Officers responded and reported speaking with a 20-year-old student who was conscious but not alert. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
1:59 a.m.
An RA in Stetson East reported an intoxicated man in a dorm room. Officers responded and spoke to an 18-year-old student who was conscious but not alert. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
3:11 a.m.
An RA in 337 Huntington Ave. reported he saw two men helping another intoxicated man into the building and was concerned for the intoxicated man. Officers responded and spoke to an intoxicated 19-year-old student. Boston EMS transported the student to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
5:50 a.m.
Boston Police requested assistance at 446 Park Drive to break up a loud party. Officers responded and reported Boston Police had taken two students into custody.
11:19 a.m.
An anonymous woman called NUPD to report an intoxicated 18-year-old student was inside Speare Hall and that she was concerned for the student’s safety. Officers responded and reported the student was intoxicated and fell, hitting her head. Boston EMS responded and, after evaluation, the student declined medical attention or transport.
4:11 p.m.
An RA in Speare Hall reported an unknown person discharged a fire extinguisher in the hallway and stairwell. Officers responded and requested cleaning services be notified to clean the area.
4:30 p.m.
While investigating the above case, an officer reported speaking with two students who admitted to smoking marijuana.
6:29 p.m.
Boston Police reported responding to International Village for a larceny report. NUPD officers responded and reported speaking to a student who reported her phone was taken during the early morning hours, either from Boston House of Pizza or International Village.
10:26 p.m.
An officer reported being waved down by staff at Our House East and reported a large group near the front entrance. Officers reported speaking to a male student who was causing a disturbance at the front entrance. The student was sent on his way. At 10:35 p.m., the officer returned to Our House where the same student was reportedly trying to start a fight. The student was again sent on his way with a warning.
Monday, March 18
12:43 a.m.
Boston Police requested assistance breaking up a loud party on Windsor Street. NUPD officers responded and met with Boston Police who said the resident was a student and they had responded to over 10 complaints about the party. Boston Police stated they have previously issued the student a summons for a violation of city ordinance. The student would not answer the door for NUPD officers.
