Entry of the Week: Monday, April 8, 7:30 p.m.
A student reported that someone wrote the words “Drunk Bitch” on a message board that hangs on her door at 110 St. Stephen St.
Monday, April 8
1:11 p.m.
A Northeastern student reported he placed his wallet on a table in the food court at the Curry Student Center (CSC) at noon and when he returned a half hour later it was gone.
9:06 p.m.
A Northeastern University Division of Public Safety (NUPD) officer reported speaking with a student whose vehicle was keyed while parked in the Renaissance Garage between March 31 and April 1.
Tuesday, April 9
11:09 a.m.
A student reported she shares a double room in White Hall and at 1:40 a.m. her roommate was having sex with a man in front of her. She said the roommate also verbally threatened her by saying, “she will start serious problems if she did not turn off the light.” Officers responded to the residence and reported the roommate was not home. Officers informed the Residence Director (RD) who said the staff is familiar with the situation and is working on a resolution.
1:45 p.m.
A student reported she left her phone unattended for two minutes and it was stolen from the third floor of the Snell Library.
6:50 p.m.
A student in CSC reported a man with a knife in his pocket. The student said she was with another female student and they were conducting a safety survey when she noticed the man standing near her table. She spoke with the man briefly and noticed the knife clipped to his shirt pocket. She said the man took the knife out of his pocket but did not open the blade. The student said she believed the man was afraid and did not believe the man was a student. The man was also with two other men. Officers located three men, who are Ben Franklin Institute of Technology students, in a stairwell at CSC. The suspect with the knife was placed in custody and the knife was confiscated. Officers issued trespass warnings to all three men.
7:04 p.m.
A man with no university affiliation called on behalf of his friend, also unaffiliated with the university and living in California, to report that she was the victim of fraud. She was allegedly scammed for $8,000 on the Internet. She believes the suspect that took her money is a Northeastern student. She deposited $8,000 into a bank account for the purchase of a Hermes purse and later found out the purse was fake.
Wednesday, April 10
9:36 a.m.
A student reported her unattended laptop was stolen in Snell Library.
10:13 p.m.
A student reported his laptop was stolen from a room in the Dana Research Center.
11:15 p.m.
An officer reported a second student reported his backpack stolen from the same room in Dana Research Center.
Thursday, April 11
2:24 a.m.
A proctor in International Village (INV) reported an intoxicated college-aged female in the lobby. Officers responded and reported the intoxicated 21-year-old Northeastern student was conscious, semi-alert and covered in vomit. Boston Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the student to Boston Medical Center.
10:39 a.m.
A Cleaning Services supervisor reported one of his female employees was cleaning the men’s room at Stetson West when a male student dropped his pants in front of her. The supervisor reported the incident happened 20 minutes prior to his call. Officers responded and spoke with the student, who said he was already in the restroom prior to the Cleaning Services employee’s arrival and that he went to his dorm room across the hall then came back into the men’s room to take a shower. He stated that at no time did he expose himself. Officers reported there were no witnesses and the female Cleaning Services employee did not want to pursue the matter.
5:05 p.m.
A Marino Center staff member reported a man said his laptop was missing. Officers responded and reported the man, who has no university affiliation, said he left his laptop unattended for two hours outside Au Bon Pain and when he returned, it was gone.
Friday, April 12
7:30 a.m.
A woman with no university affiliation reported she left the trunk of her vehicle unsecured by accident. She then went into 140 The Fenway to meet a person and when she came back her laptop was missing from the open trunk. Officers responded and reported the vehicle was parked on Hemenway Street. Boston Police assumed jurisdiction.
10:52 a.m.
An officer reported he found graffiti on the Columbus Garage footbridge.
11:36 a.m.
The manager of the bookstore reported students were ordering books and other merchandise online with a fake credit card.
2:18 p.m.
A student reported he was threatened by another student for dating that student’s ex-girlfriend. Officers spoke with the ex-boyfriend.
Saturday, April 13
3:11 a.m.
The proctor in 319 Huntington Ave. reported an intoxicated male student had swiped into the building. Officers responded and spoke with the student, who was conscious, alert and did not need medical attention.
4:20 a.m.
Officers reported assisting Boston Police in apprehending a suspect in front of INV. The suspect is believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting, and has no university affiliation. NUPD assisted Boston Police in transporting the prisoner.
12:01 p.m.
A student reported his bike was stolen from the fence in front of Stetson West sometime on April 11.
11 p.m.
A Resident Assistant (RA) in 337 Huntington Ave. reported loud music. The RA reported that when he responded to the room he noticed a few people entering and exiting the area. The RA also reported noticing drug paraphernalia in the room. The RA was denied entry. Officers responded and spoke with two students and found no evidence of drug use.
Sunday, April 14
12:36 a.m.
An RA reported that while doing rounds he discovered that the front glass door to 204 Hemenway St. was shattered.
1:24 a.m.
An officer reported stopping a student for public urination by Cahners Hall. The student was issued a warning and sent on his way.
1:29 a.m.
A proctor reported that a college-aged woman signed into a room and appeared intoxicated. Officers responded and reported the person in question was a student who was conscious and alert. The student admitted to drinking but did not need further medical attention.
1:50 a.m.
A student reported a loud party on the sixth floor of West Village G. Officers responded and reported hearing music. They spoke with a student who agreed to turn the volume down.
10 p.m.
A Northeastern student reported his bike was stolen from the rack outside West Village E. Officers responded and spoke to the student, who said the bike belongs to his girlfriend and it was attached to the rack with a cable lock.
Monday, April 15
2:05 a.m.
A resident of 132 Hemenway St. reported a loud party in the building. Officers responded and spoke to two Berklee College of Music students who had sent their friends home and turned the music off.
2:50 p.m.
Boston Police broadcasted a request for assistance for several explosions that occurred near the Boston Marathon finish line. Officers covered the major intersection along Massachusetts Avenue to assist with traffic and crowd control. Two EMTs responded to the scene. Evening shift officers were called in early and day shift officers were held until the situation stabilized.
5:10 p.m.
A student reported two large white boxes with Florida postage on the steps of Snell Library. Officers reported the boxes contained cables, tape and a lamp. The boxes were a delivery for Argo Tea. The boxes were moved into the library near the Argo Tea door.
5:39 p.m.
Police operations received a call that there was an unattended laptop in a basement class in Snell Library broadcasting the news about the explosions at the marathon finish line. Officers reported speaking to the student who left the laptop unattended, who said he left the laptop to have dinner. Officers advised the student not to leave his property unattended.
5:43 p.m.
A resident reported a man placed a children’s backpack near the entrance of the Massachusetts Avenue T Station and walked away. Officers responded and reported no backpack or suspicious man in the area. Boston Police and Transit Police were advised.
5:56 p.m.
Officers reported being given information that three men were hovering over a trash can and backpack on Westland Avenue. Officers responded for the report. The area was clear.
5:59 p.m.
A student reported a suspicious package in the Northeastern tunnels. Officers responded and reported nothing suspicious in the area.
