The men’s hockey team, which is gearing up to try and make the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year, released its schedule for the 2009-10 season Aug. 12.
The season will start with a series out west Oct. 9 and 10 against Colorado College. The next week, the Huskies will have their home regular-season opener at the newly-renovated Matthews Arena against Bentley Oct. 16.
The following week, Hockey East play starts up and the Huskies will make the short drive to Durham, N.H., to play the University of New Hampshire Oct. 23. Other Hockey East highlights include games against Boston University on Nov. 6 and March 5 and 6 to close the regular season.
Homecoming weekend will be held Nov. 13 and 14 with both games at Matthews against Maine.
The Huskies open the 2010 year at the Ledyard National Bank Classic in Hanover, N.H. Jan. 2 and 3 against Dartmouth and either Holy Cross or the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
The annual Beanpot will be held Feb. 1 and 8 at TD Garden with Northeastern facing off against Boston University in the first round at 8 p.m..
Finally, the Hockey East quarterfinals will be played during the weekend of March 12 to 14.
