The men’s basketball team announced its full schedule for the upcoming season Sept. 1.
The team starts off with an out-of-conference game at Siena Nov. 17, which will be televised on ESPN. Other non-conference games include visits from Utah State, Wright State, and Providence, the lone Big East team on the schedule.
The annual game with Boston University is scheduled for just before Thanksgiving on Nov. 25, and this time the Huskies will make the short trip over to Commonwealth Avenue. The team is partaking in two holiday tournaments this year, both taking place during winter break. The first will be in Honolulu, Hawai’i, from Dec. 22 to 25 when the Huskies will take on St. Mary’s and the winner of USC and Western Michigan. Later in the break, the team will head to Santa Clara, Calif., where they will play Santa Clara and the winner of the Kent St. and Wofford game.
Highlights of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) part of the schedule include the conference opener Dec. 5 when the team will travel to Philadelphia to take on Drexel, and Jan. 23 when Virginia Commonwealth will make the trip to Boston. The team will get a chance for payback on Jan. 20, when they make the trip to Towson, the team that eliminated the Huskies in the first round of the CAA Tournament last season. The regular season finishes up with a trip to George Mason Feb. 27 and the CAA Tournament will be held again this year in Richmond, Va., March 5 to 8.
The Huskies are coming off a 19-13 season that included the school’s first postseason victory since 1984.
