The Northeastern women’s rowing team swept the competition last weekend at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships, cruising to its fourth conference title in six years on West Windsor, N.J.’s Mercer Lake.
The varsity four kicked off the competition with a come-from-behind victory, just edging the University of Buffalo after trailing by open water.
The Huskies then won both varsity eight races by over six seconds each. The second varsity eight finished in 6:45.195, while the first varsity eight capped off the championship races with a 6:38.037 first-place time.
Northeastern head coach Joe Wilhelm earned CAA Coach of the Year honors after the Huskies’ impressive performance.
With the conference title in hand, the Huskies will head to the NCAA championships in Indianapolis on May 30 where they will compete against 21 other teams for the national championship.
