Because of the second major storm in a week to hit the Boston area, the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl Parade is now expected to kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 4 from the Prudential Center. Originally, the parade was scheduled for Tuesday. The Patriots are expected to land in Boston from Phoenix, Ariz. at 7 p.m. tonight.
The traditional duck boats are scheduled to leave at 11 a.m. and will travel down Boylston Street, through the city and end at City Hall. The parade will pass both the Boston Common and Public Garden.
Temperatures on Wednesday are expected to reach 27 degrees, a hopeful increase from the 15 degrees expected for Tuesday.
Last night, the New England Patriots secured their first Super Bowl victory in over a decade against defending champions the Seattle Seahawks, 28-24. A last minute interception by Malcolm Butler secured the win.
With the victory, quarterback Tom Brady was named MVP and became the first quarterback to ever lead his team to six Super Bowls. He also holds the record for most cumulative touchdowns passes made in Super Bowl history.
“We are looking forward to a victory parade,’’ Walsh said at a press conference on Monday.
